There's definitely something in that George.
Is given me a shiver down my spine thinking about it but in a pleasant way . I think Tam is letting you know it's time to tell his story

Tam was a legend, even though I only met him once he made an impact on me. I look forward to reading this.

Only met Tam myself twice, after which he was good enough to turn out in horrible weather to help me out with my broken down 45 and then back next day to finish the job off, having collected parts donated by a .org member miles away. A true gent.

Right I am home now and my computer won't let me into the forum so I'm doing this on my phone .
Tam Leek visited me at my home about 5 or 6 times after our initial first meeting. Tam was great company as his many friends will testify. We would sit drinking coffee till the early hours gabbing and putting the world to rights . Tam could talk for Scotland. One night we discussed our remote locations at that time and the piercing darkness of our countryside homes . He told me of his early life when he worked at Hartwood mental Hospital near where he lived. Like most large Victorian buildings there was always tales of hauntings and Tam learned of the young nurse who commited suicide there in its early days by jumping from a balcony. The hospital had its own cemetery for patients who died whilst there. One night Tam and workmate cut through the cemetery going home and tam tripped over a fallen cross . He and his mate righted it and Tam noticed the name Meiklejohn Years later Tam and his mate were fooling around with a weiggyboard (I think thats how its spelt. There where 5 people at the table . The glass spelt out the words "thank you". Tam asked " thank who" and the glass moved to him and then his mate. At this point I know you are thinking aye right but trust me Tam was serious . He was so freaked by this that telling me and my wife about it prompted him to revisit the now derelict hospital. The security guy let him in and he took the pic on post one . The name on the stone was Meiklejohn. After much searching the internet we established that the young nurse came from a Hebridean island . She contracted a disease if the brain and threw herself over a balcony . She was buried in the grounds at her parents request as transporting her body would be impossible. The staff later paid for a proper monument and that was the stone that Tam and his pal re-erected. Believe it if you like but trust me it so freaked Tam out that when I told him what we had had found he asked us to keep it to ourselves. As an aside we have just watched an interview on Scottish news with a blue angel (a sect if the hells angels in Scotland). The Blue Angels gave an escort to Tams funeral when we buried him. I think I need a stiff drink . Last edited by FLYER; 1st May 2015 at 22:21.. |

One for me to toy over for a day or two.
One of our family members have had similar experiences, not me though. Dalgarven near Kilwinning, if that means anything?

Thanks for sharing Tam's experience with us George.
There is indeed a lot we don't know about what happens when we shuffle off this earth but the thought that we carry on existing in one form or another makes the idea of death less frightening I think.
