I suppose the modern systems compensate for poor quality fuels.

In the case of the KV6 it has an anti-knock sensor to retard the ignition.
If the fuel has a high mix of methanol and ethanol, I would imagine that the oxygen sensors would compensate, for the overall effect of it running weak, by richening the mixture.

Off the top of my head, optimal burn rates for petrol is 14.7:1, ethanol is about 10:1 and methanol about 5:1.

I prefer to run my car on petrol!
I use branded fuel and my local place and they price match the supermarket.

The old distinctive sound of pinking. Ah the memories I remember the days if the car didn't pink a bit I was quite disappointed
