I am sure that my steel one is fine as I keep the coolant at the correct mix. But it's not SHINY

I knew T-Cut would have the answer. So looks like I have a Gerry Tee for sale in stainless steel.

T-Cut my car was registered 28/07/03 so guess it was an early in the year build.

So being the devils advocate not have a leaking T to worry about, what implications does my set up have

I suppose it is a bit misleading calling it a T-Piece when on some versions it is not a T.

I believe gerry3 paints them silver. I noticed that though this paint was completely dry, it softened when the engine got warm and just wiped off. I guess this could have implications for the hose joint.

If gerry3 reads this I'd humbly suggest it might be better to use a heat-proof paint or leave it 'natural'. This mod is a superb bit of kit for DIYers.

After fitting mine was a success Gerry told me he was going to move to stainless steel to avoid any issues with corrosion. I will check the bores of mine next time I replace the coolant but I don't really expect any signs.

This is a really good (maybe essential!) upgrade to post 2003 1.8t's. Is easily fitted and, so far, solves the possible leak situation from the plastic pipe. As I have one that's working fine already I will stand back and see if anyone needs it. I'll take it if you haven't sold it after a while.

Not a problem, I'm in no rush. I may post it in the for sale section and can always take it to the Peterborough meeting.
