I'll be the first to admit I'm not a regular here but I have once been a fully paid up member.
I'm sick of seeing these threads full of people arguing.
It happens alot and is mostly uncalled for.
There was a simple question asking opinions. Not for sarcastic replies and insulting links.
If you don't like it just say so. There is no need to take the Mickey.
It always seems to be if someone is planning on modifying there car the people who like to keep them standard get all upset.

Now if someone can make a ZT-T+ 135 CDTi sound like a standard ZT-T 180 V6, that would be spot on for me!!

Tom.

I'm glad I read this thread, I think I will get a stainless non cat straight through system made for my 75. Going to make sure its subtle and looks /souds fairly std. But I will know there is a lovely free flowing no-rust exhaust system under there!

It is just you. I am personally sick of noisy exhausts raping my ears. Besides, what about all people from UK, or Europe, or entire planet deciding to decat their cars at the same time. If a few people do it you call it a mod, if we all do it you may call it mass polution. Who tells who has the right to do it and who don't ?
As for sarcasm (I cant find the insults) I have always thought that humor is a valuable part of british cultural heritage, are you beginning to lose your identity ?

Just remember much of the noise is caused by the speed of the escaping gas, hence the baffles in an exhaust to slow the gasses down, and why an exhaust that breaks just behind the manifold is so loud. Cheaper systems are little more than hollow boxes.

Thus my last 75 with a cheap back box beloowed and roared in a most undignified fashion until I sorted it...by partialy blanking one of the 2 tailpipes. The slowed things down slightly and made a huge difference - the car sounded like a Rolls Royce.

It drove happily for thousands of miles like that, and I only took it out when I sold it - then it sounded like a tank again!

Try it and see - with your engine running, put your hand over one of the pipes for a few seconds, and hear the difference. Dont worry unless its been running for hours you wont burn yourself!

I'vew got a 190 back box to fit on mine, bought in error, but it will be getting the same treatment when fitted.
