It's been a little while since I've updated here about my 190 SE. I took the car off the road just before Christmas due to the radiator leaking slowly from the top elbow O ring. I could smell coolant while driving leading up to this which I though was from the thermostat which I had recently replaced but could see no signs of leaking, so I was relieved to find the cause.

Funds were very limited at the time, so I took the car off the road. In the spring, I moved the car out of it's hybernation spot and it promptly broke a front spring. New front shocks/springs became the priority and I have just ordered all of the correct items from Rimmers/DMGRS for the ZT 190, and hope to get them fitted as soon as possible. The MOT is about to expire so I hope to get this renewed at the same time.

Then I hope to finally get round to having the radiator and belts done. I also think the clutch is on the way out, so the amount of big jobs still to be done is overwhelming, but I love the car so much that these jobs WILL be done, and the car will be mechanically sound again.

Once the car is mechanically sound, I can start to look on cosmetics, such as a full Apex wheel refurb and some minor paintwork rectification.

Then maybe it will be ready to attend some shows, but I expect we're looking well into 2019.

Update since my last post back in July.

In August I successfully managed to replace the front struts, top mountings, springs and drop links by myself. I felt very pleased that I was able to do this myself, as I'd never done work like this before. The fact that the car was immobile forced the issue, but I was glad I did it as it's a skill I can now use going forwards.

A weeks after the work was completed, the car sailed effortlessly through it's MOT.

Shortly after this I also managed to seal the leaking rear screen.

List of major jobs still include clutch, belts, and radiator. I am hoping to tackle the radiator myself, and I might even attempt the clutch.

The car remains off the road until the work is completed. It would be nice to get the above work done by the spring.

Happy Christmas everyone!
