Thanks for the video Jim. Brought back memories from long ago. I had a a drive of the the old Rover 3.5 saloon Coupe. Also had two Rover SD1. A 2.6 and the 3.5. The 3.5 was by far the better car. Used to enjoy touring on the continent with it. Montego also, the diesel.

Default Had a great time today!

Took me a while to find the stand but is was worth the trip from North Yorkshire, it was really great to speak to the people on the stand and to see the lovely cars, mine will be like these one day, I am determined! It was an interesting drive back north today in the rain, but well worth the effort.
Best wishes to all,
Bob Walker

I've still got a Rover SD1 (the 3.5 V8S) which I inherited from my father. It was his second (the first was also the V8) and he thought it went much better than the second one. I love the looks, but the build quality was always poor. That said, mine has never been welded, but with only 29,000 on the clock it shouldn't need it. It is a love hate relationship - so will be up for sale shortly for re-commissioning.

Smile An honour and a privilege

I’d like to thank Christopher and Paul for inviting me to exhibit The Yellow Peril at this years show. It was a tremendous experience and one I shall remember for many years to come.
It was a wonderful if tiring three+ days and I almost lost my voice talking to so many interesting people. Thanks chaps. It was that good, I even renewed my club membership!!!

I had the pleasure to meet Peter Morgan the 75 Program Director who had the first Primrose Yellow off the production line

Each year we try to present a broad cross section of the dual marque we represent. We are of course always limited by the amount of stand space we are offered, and we don't tend to find that out until the middle of the summer.

We like to show cars that have a unique selling point of some kind, be it a rare colour or trim, a particular history or back story, or indeed just a car that is a talking point. We try where possible to have an example of most engine derivatives (although that doesn't always follow as this year we have 3 V6's).

Body type can also be a factor i.e. saloon, LWB, tourer etc. Then there is the availability of the owner for 4 days in November, you may have the most fabulous car ever, but if you can't get it to Birmingham and stay with it from Thursday to Sunday due to work or other commitments that makes it a non starter.

In short, there are many factors that come in to play. If anyone feels that their car might be suitable, we are always open to contact via PM which we can then file for the future.

I'm not sure if that makes it any clearer or indeed answers your question? ultimately it's not decided simply by some formula, would that it were that simple.
I thank you Paul for finding the time to answer a difficult question. Thank you for giving it your best shot I am sure it will very helpful for anyone who is considering entering their next car into next year’s show.

I'd like to extend a very public and warm thankyou to the three members who gave up so much of their valuable time and energy to represent the Club, the marque and themselves as ambassadors of the Rover 75 & MG ZT car owning community we have here.

1) Gerry Lloyd with his astonishing 75 Cabriolet

2) Andrew Garcaz with his stunning Primrose saloon

3) and Alan Bruce-Smith with his gorgeous ZT 180 SE Sports Auto

Well done gents, you really did us proud this year

I attended the show on Sunday and it was great to catch up with Paul & Pete, plus I hadn't seen Andrew or Luciano in years , all 3 cars on display were a credit to their owners and the club and what can you say about Gerry and his self built convertible other than he is very talented and a genius to let us share in what might have been

I took a few pictures as below but not much different to what has already been posted other than a nice one of Paul & Luciano for the 75 club album !
