Default PDI Info

These screen dumps are from the PDI menu, not a lot of options here at all

PDI is accessed from the vehicle maintenance screen

Then the country is confirmed

Next you are taken to the normal Dealer Config screen

After that you can configure the Navigation Language

And the Remote Handsets

And that's about it.

Default Ecu resycn

This Screen dump underlines the fact the engine ECU is not designed to be replaced on its own

Do any of your contacts have a spreadsheet or whatever to do it I guess it was standard practice at some point in the production line.

I will post a new thread on the subject later as this is something we (as a club and therefore an eventual source of reference) will need to know about
This was the type of thing that the calibration department were involved in, and would generaly have been called in by us to do it! I will dig out my stuff and see if I have got anything(unlikely as most of my stuff is strip reports etc). If I have not got anything, I will try and speak to someone who may be able to get hold of the info.
You are right that it was standard practice on the line, but as I recall it was done in Steyr, as all engines were hot tested prior to despatch from Austria.

Thanks andy related thread here
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=1976

it is the SA block we are interested in specifically enabling cruise control and that will probably have been done once the cars final spec was complete i.e towards then end of the production line

Yeah
I think I got the wrong end of the stick here. I thought you were just talking about Engine specifics. I have spoken to a friend of mine at Land Rover, who recognises the code designations, and thinks he might know someone who understands how they worked on Freelander 1, and might be able to help us understand them on Rover 75.

Default Diesel tickover adjustemnt and engine balancing

I thought you could tweak individual injectors but I was wrong you can't on T4, the engine ECU does all that to maintain smooth running only thing you can change is the tickover in 10rpm steps I have just turned mine up 10 rpm and it now ticking over much more smoothly

some pics

This is the resultant cylinder balancing after knocking the tickover up 10 rpm

And this is the before shot

Thanks for the Brilliant info Keith, I have often wondered what sort of information was available on the comp, now I have a very good idea, This forum is priviledged to have someone like yourself giving freely your time to explain to all including the mechanically un-educated like myself, Thank you.

You seem to be finding more and more functions on your T4 Keith.
The Cylinder balancing and the Tick-over adjustments sound really handy.

A bit worrying that they have to create a test to make sure the "service technicians" have connected the ABS up correctly.
