Well a bit more today...replaced all the scuttle plastics that were cracked, split or damaged. New set isn't 100% but it's certainly presentable now.
3 gear knobs later and it looks spot on. The original one had lost all it's dimples and top was a rusty rather then silver colour. 2nd one was off my old ZR, which was much better, but still room for improvement. Next one was brand new, but the plastic top cracked...!!!! can only assume it was in the extreme heat recently Current one is another brand new one. Steering wheel and air bag changed. Again the originals were well worn after 140,000 miles, and for some reason the wheel has a set of non functioning cruises switches fitted. I wonder if the car had a wooden wheel originally, and someone put on what ever came to hand. Still a million and one jobs to do, and no time to do them !!!

Well got some time to do one of the more important jobs, remove the LPG filler from the wing....It was rotten to say the least.
Now just need to get the rear wing sorted out !!!!

Hi David,
That is nasty, my 51 plate R75 is immaculate round the LPG fitting (same place as yours). Have you decided yet to fit a full wing or repair it with a section? Regards, Tom. |

I'm hoping the guy can let a small panel in and make an invisible repair. I'd love a new panel, but I don't think it's worth the time and expense.

Ahh, I see. Bit of a pointless gimmick on a V8 though, who would want to cruise

It's something to try and fit, whether I use it or not is another thing
