Well I'd do it in stages. Look for a job and then rent a house. Then look for a house to buy.

until recently I did 52 mile round trip, no problem. A few years before I had a 160 mile round trip. It was too much. I was on the road at about 5.30 am. I decided to stay a couple of miles from work with my parents and then at the end of the week the 80 mile trip home. Getting out of London and down the M3 the traffic never cleared and I was never able to open the bike up until about 10 miles from home.
I got to hate the M3 and I could tell you every crooked white line.

On top of a days work you need to consider the cost and travel, travel time and hours away from home.
People travel to waterloo, good luck to them but it's not for me. If you can use the train and get a seat, it may be better then driving.

moving to the open space and quiet of the country, best thing I ever did.

Rural, Holders Garage are good (at least they were 30 years ago) and an easy commute to Bristol.

45 miles / 1 hr 15 each way every day, a real grind in the winter, not so bad in the light. Don't mind going as I use the time to plan my day but can't stand the drive home, but at least I am in my 75!
