I'm ashamed to live in the same neck of the woods - not the first time we've had serious cruelty to animals - goats, racing pigeons and horses have all come in for inhuman treatment. Somewhere down the line, a generation (or more) grew up with no sense of common decency, no distinction between right and wrong, and a total disregard for the law.
