Angry Rear Blind

Hope someone can help

The rear electric sunblind has suddenly stopped working i have checked all the fuses etc and they are all fine.

When i press the button for the blind on the dash i can hear a clicking noise like a relay or something is switiching i have had a look everywhere to try and see if i can see the motor or relay if there is one, but cannot find anything, so i asume it is hidden well out the way.

Can anyone help where i start looking or is it something easy i need to do to cure the problem ( i wish)

Mark I'm sure someone with more Knowledge will be along to help shortly as I have a Tourer so cannot check.
I would think if you have a test meter available, you check that there is a 12volt feed being received at the Blind at the connection to it, which would I hope indicate if the power is getting that far, but as said help will come.

From the description, I'd first suspect a stuck motor. Two options, firstly, get someome to press the button whilst you GENTLY try and give it a little tug. When I installed mine, I noticed that the top trim on the blind stuck on the cut edge of the parcel shelf.

If that fails you need to try and get to the plug on the motor from inside the boot. It's a very short loom and not much room to play with. Get a multi meter on it to make sure you're getting 12v

I seem to remember its orange / red wiring with a mini 2 way connector.

This has been known to happen - partially lifting the parcel shelf and giving the motor a solid "Tap" (thud) or three has been know to set things straight ...

I found that re-greasing the worm drive in the gear mechanism helped greatly. You do have to remove the parcel shelf to get at it and watch the fingers as there is a HUGE amount of torque in the motor.

How is the easiest way to get access to it. Can it be removed and repaired. Is there a diagram of it so I can do this myself?

Regards,

John Hart
