Hi Graham,

I was wondering whether the rad had to be removed. I assume I'd need to do the mod to the fan cowling to allow it to be removed independently? I don't mind doing this as it seems to make a lot of sense.

Thanks
Simon

Also thanks to WASD for the washing-up liquid tip

I'm a bit puzzled why Mr Haynes says remove radiator....no need.
I've never tried removing radiator while keeping bumper in place T-Cut.

Is that possible?

The condensors I supply come with dryer/desiccant already fitted.
BTW I also supply O rings (light green OEM type)
£2.50 each ie Half the price of Xpart

I've not done it either, but it must be possible. I just quoted directly from Haynes regarding condenser removal. He has the radiator with attached condenser in his hands.

I must get one of these Mr Haynes manuals.
I'm convinced they don't actually carry out half the tasks they talk about

I think the jobs are done alright, but not necessarily the most practical/logical way.

I think as they're basically stripping the car down, they don't bother to investigate the easiest way to do something.

Useful for torque wrench settings etc though!

Another excellent workshop manual is the MGR Rave manual on CD.
It has far more info than Mr Haynes & you can just print out the pages you need for your tasks in hand that day.

So it doesn't matter if you get your oily mitts on the pages, better still the most used pages (like torque settings) can be put in Clear ring binder sleeves

Many thanks for that Jules. I'll have to check out RAVE
The condenser arrived today and it does indeed have desiccant with it. Looks to be reasonable quality and was very well packaged. TIme will tell...
Looks like I'll be busy this weekend.

Having seen the desiccant bag, I can't believe they want more than twenty quid for them

That's life with MGR. Next time you need desiccant go to any large florist and they should be able to supply silica gel for a quarter the price.
