Hi Derek,they are the early Cowley type lace,very desirable,i'm told.Was going to retrofit them to another little number i'm working on

You could always patch it up and see if it will last a while longer until funds allow for a new pair there's always a cobblers.

Could they not be used to plug the hole in your canoe .......

OR ....... better idea ..... make a PAIR of smaller shoes, sort of monkey sized, out of them - the folks down South in Hartlepool would pay good money for them

I dont know how you expect to trade them on here , you havent mentioned the colour , the spec, or the mileage even .Members on here are pretty canny these days ,and wont go for a pig in a poke . But Cowley built .... the black bottoms will help to shift them , Im surprised no one has snapped them up .It must be the old story ' If only i had the room/money/the wife wont let me/Ive got 3 on the drive ' etc .
