No, I'm not happy! She did it again yesterday and on the way to work this morning the engine warning light cam on....this is sounding familiar. I took her straight to the Rover agent which is where she currently languishes. I'll give you an update over the next few days.

Ekk!

Fuel clip/pump, lamda sensor or coils perhaps. What did they do in relation to the filter, a quick check will not be good enough. Did it have the clip/self tappers?

UPDATE:

Filter clip now fitted - and new fault now detected. Solenoid for purging fuel system is faulty. Troble is there are two models and they're not sure which one is needed. Both will have to come from Blighty. Happily she is still running OK. What next!

If she's running OK, might be a false Fault Code you're getting.

Thanks Jules I'll check that out. The head mechanic also said that he felt she was feeling under powered, so naturally I'd like to fix that!!!

Default Fualt code P1233 & P1237

Hi Roger
Has your rev limiting fault re occurred yet?

I have a 260 in at present doing the same but this one has 2 rev limits!
First one occurs at 2800 RPM but load dependant
Second limit (if first limit not there) is 4000 RPM.

MIL lamp on when these faults occur.

Fault codes we get are P1233 (this shows first) then if you carry on driving P1237 pops up.

P1233 Fuel Pump Driver Module off-line
P1237 Fuel Pump Secondary circuit fault
(Ford codes)

Work so far.with no cure
Fuel clip already done but checked again.
Fuel Pump module replaced
Multi connector plugs cleaned
C 2369 connector checked (pump module)
Plenum area dry & clear
MAF sensor plug checked for corrosion.

What does seem to affect the fault is moving the large wiring loom about situated under upper chassis member RHS (next to spring turret)
We are suspecting a wiring fault and trying to get this narrowed down.

We can clear the MIL lamp Via Code reader or the MIL lamp will extinguish itself if the intermittent fault isn't there for a long enough period.

But because the ECU "latches" into limp mode it's difficult to monitor exactly when the fault occurs.
Anyone throw any more ideas into the pot, you are most welcome.
