The mpg figures for my 2.5 75 auto are very similar to those shown by Lightpainter - but not so well presented!

Over a five year period and 32000 miles my overall mpg is 24.58 which is slighly higher than Lightpainter's 23.95.

So many factors affect the mpg that one tankfull can produce exceptional highs and lows and a rolling mpg figure is the more accurate way to calculate it - as can be seen in Lightpainter's table.

My 75's computer always indicates between 4 and 5mpg better than actual figures and I keep intending to attempt to adjust it. If anyone has done this I would like to hear how it was done.

Usually about 300 on a tank of petrol, and 230ish on LPG. Turn the AC off and it goes up. I gave up monitoring the fuel consumption as no matter how much you work it out you are still going to do the same if you don't work it out!

Who's been watching Top Gear, then?

750 miles plus in a Jag, with enough left for another 100?

Yes watched that on Sunday very Good,
Nearly 1,000 miles on a full Tank possible from the Jaguar.

He pushed it at beginning to try and use up the fuel
as he never thought he would make Blackpool,
Heating, Air Con the Lot and then realised he could beat the Eco cars.

Started out with a full tank when I collected the car for the first time (Friday 14th), and have done 490 miles since then... fuel light was on, so I filled up this morning. Managed to cram 55 litres into the tank, and the numbers work out at just over 40mpg. For my first week and a bit with the car (and the fact that it's an automatic), I'd say that's pretty damn good!

I likes this! Have you put in the calculations so it works out the relevant fields when you enter in the litres used and miles travelled?

I couldn't be cheeky and ask for a copy could I? I have a similar thing for my motorbike, but it's not as fancy, it's just works out the mpg.

interesting thread as always .. fuel, i guess its down to road conditions and heavy flipflops, we usually get around 600 plus from a tank, in the black diesel it's done 140k. recently doing town work mixed with the odd long run we took a foto at three quarters of an almost full tank, first zeroing the mileage
