That will be it
If properly tightened , these nuts should not need anything particularly strong to undo . The extending wheelbrace type has served me well for many , many years .

many years ago when I worked in a garage, a guy came in driving a Bedford cf. the front tyre was totally shredded. he asked us could we replace the tyre. after trying air guns and massive extension bars plus gas, big hammers and industrial language with no luck whatsoever, it turned out he had a wheel come loose once so had brazed all the wheel nuts on the van.

Cheap tools are just not worth it.
An impact socket is certainly stronger than a normal socket

Always use a good quality socket BUT use a T bar to turn it so that there is equal pressure on BOTH sides of the wheel bolt.

Stops it slipping off and will help it undo much easier.

Hrrrmm! That makes no sense (if I understand you correctly).

I think you push done on one side/end while pulling up on the other
The socket is in the middle. Think of a T, socket at the bottom, bar runs left to right

I have a cross shaped "spider" with multi sized ends for spinning off the wheel nuts/bolts but the extending bar is best for stubborn fixings.

That's it. That is what I was trying to explain, ( Badly. Lol. )

Personally I use a spider with six pieces coming from a central connection.
Gives me six choices of sockets which are permanent parts of the of the contraption. Each opposite pair of arms act as a T bar when using any size of choice.

I've never had an issue with removing my wheels, I have a decent quality deep socket and until recently this was used with my torque wrench - (I know what some folks will say - I disagree )

I'd recommend Halfords Advanced 17mm deep socket - Make sure it is just a 6 sided hex

Paul.
