Just got off (not of!) the 'phone with Dox Direct who are doing the printing and they've already finished printing, and are dispatching as I type. Doh!

Not too expensive though - £6.67 per copy inc delivery, so I'll treat this one as a first draft and give it a thorough proof reading when it arrives.

Time to make a quick phone call I think. Thanks for spotting.

I had actually spotted that too but didn't want to be that perfect.

I will get a photo of the Vitesse without its clothes.

I wouldn't worry about that, I'm not one to get offended when my mistakes are spotted, it all helps to improve.

I look forward to that, it really does sound quite intriguing.

Looks superb Cliff...
What size did you go for in the end?

I remember doing something similar back in the early 90's with my 1982 Ford Capri, I had a 3ft x 2ft poster size print done. It used to hang in the dinning room in a lovely contemporary silver raised frame, but SWMBO vanished it to my little workshop where it currently sits on the wall.

Obviously we had no computers with clever software back then, so it was a case of using some photography skills and wishing for lots of luck on the day.

It currently sits in a art portfolio sleeve on the wall as I accidentally broke the glass while moving some timber.

I ordered an A2 poster, which is around 16 inches by 2 ft (approx). Thought is was quite big at the time, but should probably have gone for A1. Given the typo in the poster though, it's just as well I went for the cheaper option. I'll give it a good "going over" when it arrives, and maybe reconsiider the size while I'm at it.

That's really nice , and you're bang on, it's a lot easier to do these things nowadays with all the editing software available. I'll bet you also had to wait a good few days for the developers to do their stuff before you even knew if you had a photograph to start with.

Thanks Cliff.
A2 is a nice size, sometimes it makes choosing the frame easier, you get a larger range.

Ah yes, the good old days waiting for 35mm film to be developed, not even knowing if the photos will be any good (no means of editing). Then waiting weeks for enlargements to be processed and ready for collection, how easy do we have it now? simply incredible.

Has any one here gone as far as having a large canvas done of their motor yet, may be with a lovely stately home as the backdrop...

Here's my SD1 Vitesse after I removed the panels at the start of a 3 year 7k restoration. After the restoration I picked best in class & best in show twice, the first at the Scottish all Rover Rally then the SD1 National at Peterborough.
The car was also on the SD1 Club Stand at the Classic Motor Show NEC in 2010.

Wow!! There's some work going on there. It looks like something you'd see on the cover of a Haynes manual - seriously impressive.

You should have posted the photo up as a "guess the car" competition, though I dare say there's a number of folk here who would have guessed right away.

Been fiddling again. Had a play around with the centre text on the poster to see if I could get it looking a little more "Roverish". Changed the case to caps, altered the spacing, and had a play around with the "75" to try to get closer to the boot badge.Hopefully this is the final version.
