I received my reminder ok last month a couple of weeks before it was due to run out. Not sure how they can get away with not sending one as you need the reference number from it in order to renew online! Or am I missing something?!

Default Do this.

Go on the DVLA website, go on the page where you can find out if a car is taxed or sorned, you can print out the page and cut out the liability date. If you put it somewhere safe you won't miss taxing it...I've found it fits in a tax disc holder.

Default not received either

also didn't get one and you need that ref to be able to pay online.
alternative is to use your v5 to apply at the postoffice

If a vehicle is on SORN its even harder to remember.

Think I'll have to post some reminders in outlook.

Like Nick I have the car tax on Direct Debit and it just rolls over without having to remember. I'm also assuming that if I ever sold the car (God forbid - she's lovely), that I would just cancel the direct debit and be out only one months worth of road tax at worst!

I got the reminder about 3 months ago for the tourer and opted for the monthly direct debit, really I should get a reminder every 4 weeks
The saloon is done yearly and free because of my DLA.
I wondered about sorning the tourer a month and then taxing and driving it a month then sorn Etc Etc probably more trouble than worth.
Ken.
