If neither of these work , we will need to test the Motherboard on this unit.

So we should start with the Hard reset and , then tomorrow if that doesn't do anything I will send you he firmware

I just love it that these guys wade in with their help.
Most would wash their hands of it, as the unit was bought, secondhand, on eBay.
I am really glad I have got one of these units. Where else would you get this level of support?

Oh! So what's my options?

Sent it to you for repair?
Trade it in for a upgrade?
Or can I just get a upgraded main board?

One thing I did miss is RDS on the radio.

Thanks.

hi Simon

Sorry I got side tracked yesterday PM
I really dont know what is involved completely in the repair until Jeff sees it so no way to give an estimate. It may just need a firmware flash or something simple.
All above options are opened to you Except Upgrading the main Board. It would have to be the same as what the system currently has.

That will be me

Hi Simon,
We would need to put it on a bench test and check to see what is happening with your unit.
As Sean said, it could possibly just need a firmware update to get it back on song again.
There could also be hardware issues but the only way of finding out is to bench test.
If you did wish to get it looked at Sean and myself will be able to assist you with getting your unit to the shop etc.

Ok Simon,
To give you an idea on pricing an average repair replacing off the peg components (resistors, capacitors, diodes etc) or soldering dry joints etc would come in at about £30.00 including vat.
The postage on top of that would be around £7.00 each way or thereabouts.
If any major components need replacing. Screen, optical drive, audio output ic's etc we would have to discuss this with Sean on parts pricing.
If you sent it to us and decided against a repair or the unit just needed reflashing then the cost for diagnostics would be £10.00 including vat plus postage costs.

Hope that helps
