A PC is capable of watching live TV but as long as you don't you don't need a license to watch on demand content.
The key thing is to just not say anything to anyone knocking on your door, or do like me and not answer the door at all to anyone you don't know.
Two years licence free and not watched any live TV and hardly seen a single advert as well.
I couldn't go back to standard TV its too inferior.
