have you got the auto wipers and parking sensors of the (later) Driver Intelligence Pack if you are finding the cruise loom? If you have the DIP, check and see as you will prob have the cruise loom...

Hi, Andy no my tourer isn't an Se just a regular conn. To locate the wiring, look at the following link it should help you identify what you need and the location of the wiring if fitted.http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/ztt/cruise%5Fcontrol/

If you have the loom then fitting the rest is pretty straightforward. Although be aware that there is no guarantee it will work. Pondweed, billcoleman and myself found that on fitting it worked, but did not have full functionality as per the book. ( Please excuse anyone I've left out).

I use my cruise on a regular basis, certainly saves a lot of fuel on a long run!

Search threads on retrofitting cruise for more info.

If you need any help let me know.

Regards,

Russ

My olds' 1st Tourer which was bought soon after the launch date seemed to have everything in place from what I can remeber; the original mirrors, the Webasto heater, cromed lashing points in the boot, airbag decal (not molded), but lacked the engine badges.

O/T: Rollsey1, are you the guy with the Tourer I seem to pass on the A325 / C0xbridge roundab0ut on a seemingly daily basis in the early evening?

They still existed, but became all-black (instead of chrome).

Not too sure of the roundabout but not me - early evening I'm on the A3 heading towards Guildford.

An excellent link, thanks Russ.

Keith,

I have an early conni tourer auto with no front fogs (prior to Rover doing the mod) - I'll have a look at the vin tonight and establish when it was manufactured. I can confirm that it has all of the pre project drive items mentioned above although as suggested, came without torpedo badges originally - since added!

Hi Andy, have front fogs on mine, can't find any reason why they weren't fitted to yours unless it was an option
. I finally found a possible build date for mine 06/06/2001, luckily it was before the deletion of the torpedo door badges on 21/06/ 2001 from Vin no. 218712.

Possible Project Drive deletions and changes applicable for Y reg tourers:

Seatbelt lower anchorage plastic caps deleted from 04/05/2001 (mine's got these!) from Vin 218882

High pressure sensor for power steering rack deleted KV6 07/05/2001 from Vin 215291

Catalytic converter heatshield deleted 1.8 + KV6 11/06/2001 from Vin 219627

Tyre size change from 205/65 15 to 195/65 15 from 13/07/2001 from Vin 214656

Load space stowage lid deleted from 06/08 2001 from Vin 223061.

From this I gather from my Vin number that my car started life sometime around the end of April 2001 and finally got finished on or just after the 6th of June!!!

Hope this helps,

Russ

The early CDT auto's couldn't have front fog lights because a cooling pipe was in the way, the pipework was modified so later ones could have them.
