Insured my Father's Moggy Traveller this morning at a third of the price he had been quoted by his existing insurer with FootmanJames online quotation.

You have your 75 on a classic policy?

Classic car insurance covers social, domestic, and pleasure use only, no business use or commuting.

Thanks, that would cover my requirements. Both my coupe and 75 are weekend cars and always have been.I will be looking into getting the 75 on a classic policy also when it becomes due in September.

Update.

One of the companies I contacted for a 'Classic quote' came back with a price £50 cheaper than my current insurers renewal.By coincidence,I think, this new quote was with the same company I am with at present. So I went back to my current insurer and asked if they could match or beat this new quote,as it would mean me not having to change insurer. They came back with a new price a few pounds cheaper than the new classic quote, which I have accepted. It turns out my current insurer already has me on a 'Modern Classic' policy,So I have saved nearly £60 of the £90 renewal price, and still includes the option of an agreed value.

Hope I haven't confused you.com

Quick heads up about the new quotes I had,one company was consistently coming in miles cheaper than the rest, 'Highway Insurance's.A quick check of reviews revealed why.I can only describe the comments as appalling.
