Spot on. I got around to removing it today, and there was a hole in the plastic bag about half way up, through which the sponge must have been leeching water.

There was a second pile of leaves, mud and crud behind the plastic bag, so glad I got to clear all that out of the wing.

I dried it out, taped it up, and stuffed it back in.

Was a lot bigger than I initially thought:
