Default error did it again this morning 🙁

Exactly the same thing. Turned key couple of clicks then nothing

Started on the third attempt.

Could this be the starter motor folks?

Sounds like starter to be honest... bendix isnt shooting out when its just clicking.
Sounds daft but remove the starter and give it a good clean out with lots of brake cleaner then put it back on and it'll probably be alright.

They clog up with clutch dust which can cause this kinda problem.

so... hello everyone, sorry for hyjacking the thread but i have the same issue ...

my car has done this for a few times...

maybe something like once a week always at morning, after a 8 or 9 hours rest...

the tank as been at less then a quarter, and above then a quarter, and also almost full...

so believe not fuel related.

the interior lights of the car always turn on very well, so believe also baterie is not the problem...

the situation is exaqly as scaramanga describes is problem...

i put the key, turn to position 2, then turn to start the engine and i only hear clicks, usually at second attempt it starts, however today it only started at third attempt...

do you guys believe in the starter,??? or what is yours opinion???

and scaramanga could you tell me if you had na improvment or solved it out???

thanks to all...

Clean all the starter and battery/earth leads (including small push on connectors) and contacts with a wire brush or emery cloth, apply vaseline and retighten. Amazing what difference a bit of corrosion will make.
