But if you dig down deep within the code (don't it's really boring ), windows live mail is outlook with a few tweaks.

Personally I would recommend Chrome over I.E any day of the week and Thunderbird over Outlook. I know its all down to personal preference before anyone says but lets be honest. Most folk aren't techie minded and don't want to be, these folk just use what came with the Windows computer because its set up for them ( and Microsoft are happy with that). This leaves them with Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

If you load up a couple of different browsers and E-Mail clients ( all free) you will probably soon end up dumping either Explorer or Outlook or even both.

Browsing history and log ins for websites can be set seperately on some browsers I.E no searchable pages visited but keeping cookies and passwords for log ins. Not strictly history free but a nice touch and adequate for most of us.

Best of Luck

Mas

Google has many references for installing the simple windows MAIL ( not Live mail ) onto a windows 7 system .
Every update these days seems to make it more idiot proof, and therefore more complicated !

Well , unchecking the " delete browsing history on exit " option seems to have cured my immediate problem with signing-in .
Shame in a way because I had my old XP system set up to delete all manner of junk but retained my signing-in facility. Never mind , progress.........
For info , I also have Linux Ubuntu loaded as an alternative operating system and have firefox as an alternative browser , but I still like IE and outlook express !
