Its a given. We all have to ‘disappear ‘ at some time, but it is unfortunate that he, or a relative did not let us know what has happened to him.

I suspect John passed away last December when he was very sick with a bad chest. His profile on Facebook is no longer there and I know he had a wife and family. He wanted contact with Darcy Dog who lives part of the time in France who was living about an hour and half drive from away from him. For a while I acted as an intermediary, but when I asked DD for Johns details I still have not received any reply. I think they didn’t meet up. John had a son living in Newton Abbot. Last year when I was very ill, I deleted all of my club inbox messages which included Johns details, sorry. The thing is Dave, if has passed away, we would not want to resurrect grief and hurt, his wife and family must be going through in making contact? Let’s remember John for who he was and for his contributions to the club. I know he was an admin/moderator on another car forum on Facebook. I was not a member of that group. I remember John telling us how he had worked in missiles for the British Army as an engineer and he how he worked as a builder. John had a penchant for raking up old posts for discussion and could be quite witty and controversial. He is a sad loss to the forum, let him rest. Thankyou to all who have contributed to this thread , which has ended in the saddest way , that i hoped not to be. He will be missed with affection, and most importantly remembered. Let him rest in peace. May i request that this thread is now closed by a moderator.

But.
What and how do we add him to the memorial page without knowing? He deserves a place if he's gone but we can't just guess. It's going to be some detective work to find out but it needs to be done or it's unfair on him.
