Unlikely, though I suppose anything's possible. The historical problem was with the factory fitted ceramic type.

Yes, also listened to the catalytic converter and to the whole exhaust with a listening stick, and it seems that it's coming from there, although can't tell for sure to be honest... but I remember that when my old original cat packed up it sounded the same, the only difference was that when I held a thick metal bar against it, that was stopping the cat from vibrating on the inside and it stopped the rattle, now if I hold a stick against it, it's still ratting

It does sound like catalyst rattle and the way it varies with exhaust flow/engine revs seems consistant with that. Maybe ask your local garage or exhaust depot to listen to it from underneath? I presume it's still under warranty so the supplier should help.

Yup, I've already had a broken cat and know pretty good enough how that sounds as the sound was always waking me up even if I was still half asleep hopping in the car to go to work in the cold mornings Already messaged the supplier, I hope he's serious enough to answer atleast, it's an article bought from ebay and the listing has been removed, but theoretically I should have a minimum of 1 year guarantee if I bought it as new as far as I know, hope I'll manage to have it replaced, but I am afraid that it won't happen...

I agree with TC - eBay is the next option if the seller won't refund or replace.

What make is the cat - was there a manufacturer's label on it?
