We had Falkens on the fronts of our 75 and they lasted just over a year and 10,000 miles. So I'm afraid it would be Avons for me also as my van has them and I've not changed any tyres on that in 40,000 miles and that gets driven like it's stolen

For £130 more for a full set of four, I know which ones I prefer between the Three A P606 on the black ZT, and the Uniroyals on the Silver one. Don't get me wrong, I haven't been able sadly to put the black ZT into a ditch yet, however the ride and noise is considerably worse than the other tyres. Brian |

Not tried the Falken ZE914's, but disappointed with the FK453's. Poor traction when pulling away compared to all the other tyres I've fitted.
Best value tyres by a good margin have to be the Nexen N8000's. Better than the FK453's, and nearly half the price. http://www.valuetyres.co.uk/tyre/bra...000XL/id/26471 I have Goodyear F1's to test next. http://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details...l-mfs#91279578 |

Thanks for the reply. That is a very good price for the nexens, making me a bit tempted to go for those. But I have heard quite a few people saying they're fairly noisy. Sad as it is I like to listen to radio 4 extra, so want something that's not too noisy! Lol
Another query, checking the tyres today, the near side tyres seem to be wearing a bit quicker than the offside. Could that be to do with tracking or something? Last edited by bikerdude666; 20th June 2015 at 23:35.. |

I had four part worns from Tyreman a few weeks ago, cost me £100. Excellent tread and this is the second time I have had them fitted and never a problem.

I had Falkons on the car when I bought it. I changed to Avon all round (you never know the history of tyres when you buy a second hand car). The ride noise was noticeably quieter with the Avon. Can't say much about the grip because I've not ended up in a ditch with either set.

As I mentioned 4 or 5 times before Avons are my first choice too.
I think they suit the Rover 75 in particular. I had Falkens on my BMW 5 series and found them really nice. They were the choice of many on Bimmerforums for their E49 cars. Harry |

Horses for courses guys..... why do some people drive Kia's and others drive Rolls Royces... because they can, and its what their finances allow. Buy whatever suits your budget and whatever makes you feel safer. Do not be pressured into spending more than you need, because someone claims they are better, we all drive differently and on different surfaces etc. I used to always buy Goodyear in the past, then moved onto Avon's and found Avon's far too soft... so moved to Chinese ditchfinders.. and have found they last me much longer... but then I do not do MOON mileage or Rocket Speeds.... |
