The thing with a lot of cars in the 50s/60s/70s was that a lot of bits were standard Lucas parts and used across numerous things - it's just a case of knowing what else they fitted. Rear lights for Aston Martin DBS - they'll be Hillman Hunter, sir.

So far with my ZTs there's nothing that I haven't been able to get - that's what EBay is for and traders on here.
Exactly - probably the best example of this “parts bin” commonality was the 200 and 300 Series Mk1 Discovery. Built on the 100 inch RR chassis with lights from the Sherpa van and the same door handles from the RR - which in turn were taken from the BL Marina.

Tell you what, I'll take it off your hands, save you the hassle, it probably won't pass the next Mot, Rover were skint when they made the 75 couldn't afford proper rustproofing.
Call it £100 cash? You won't get a better offer. Nobody wants these old tanks anymore
In fact, make him pay you £100 to take it away. He'll only thank you for it and all the grief you've saved him.

Send me those parts. They are obsolete now and are useless.

I have found with these "experts" my reply is-" is that right"? and -" I didn't know that"! and look them full in the face with a slight smile. Tossers. Chris.S.

They really don't understand... Once a model goes out of production what do they think happens to the lines making them and how it all actually works.

Really upset them and tell them the Chinese only stopped making them a year or so ago.

I got told the same when I bought my first 75 in 2006 from a local Rover dealer. I took it to a garage we always use for its 2nd MOT (never use dealers as garages) and the owner said " why have you bought that you will nevee get parts for it and if you can they will be super expensive plus all the engines have major issues with liners and HGF.

Luckily I ignored his wimpering and 12 years later I am still taking my current ZT to his garage for MOTs and I have never had an issue with spares

Rover snobbery was rife in the early to mid noughties and thats part of the reason these cars became the best kept secret on the road

I generally source the parts myself, then take them to the garage for fitting.

Talking about older cars in general, not the 75 which has needed very little

As far as i'm aware - New Original Alloy Wheel Centre Caps are pretty much NLA (for my wheels)

And Subframe Bushes may be NLA ?

I've been fortunate Engine wise - the Special K has loads of Parts available - Original Parts and aftermarket options.....almost too many

and price wise Brand New K-series Cylinder Head (with Valves) £254 delivered

r.e the "Special K" - and the parts i plan to fit - it's NOT HGF

Suspected Valve Damage
