I have the remote fob and the timer
The remote fob needs the receiver unit as well. I think the Rover has a version of the Webasto Telestart T70. Later numbers of telestart get really flash led/lcd displays in the fob to set the temperature and duration etc. Do a search for "webasto telestart" on ebay. If anyones german is better than mine, webasto stuff goes much cheaper on ebay.de

That's what I'm having problems doing - sourcing one at a price I can afford. I have all the fitting instructions etc from the Webasto web-site and it needs a receiver for the remote signal to be fitted as part of the kit, as far as I understand. At Webasto list-prices we're looking at big bucks for either the timer or the remote, if bought new. Timers are no prob as there are more of them kicking around 2nd hand, waiting to be found. You would need to check if it is possible to have a remote (and receiver) without having fitted the timer first. This is why FrenchMike is experimenting with a dedicate mobile phone triggering a sensor to activate the fbh. If remotes were easy to come by FrenchMike would be wasting his time and energy - which he's not doing of course. Good luck, happy hunting, and if anyone finds a source, or more info, please let us all know. Caio, Singvogel. |

Update on remote:
There are several on eBay right now which are listed for VW, Audi and Skoda. Whether these will work on Rovers too needs someone investigation. I shall be looking at eBay.de later today. S. |

Further update on remote fbh gizmo aka Telestart.
OK, I've checked the Webasto site info and been on ebay.de Prices will make your eyes water! The actual fob on it's own will do nothing! We need to have not only the remote fob bit with the key ring, but a receiver box and an antenna. You'll get a good idea of the work involved if you have a look at the best fitting instructions I have found so far, which are for a Skoda Octavia, as the work is the same no matter what vehicle. Link here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/76230311/W...allation-Guide I cannot see anyone selling all three bits complete for under £100 Once fitted the fob needs to be linked/programmed to your particular receiver only. That is detailed in the operating instructions. Even if you speak no German you can follow the pics on ebay.de and see words like: Webasto Telestart T91 Funkfernbedienung / Komplettset which means 'Long-distance equipment switching on device / complete set. Lovely language German is. All too pricey for me unfortunately - at the moment anyway, so soon after Xmas. Hope this helps you decide if you want to go for one of these, or the digital timer. I discovered that you do not need to have the timer first as the two work independently of each other. I was hoping that the receiver part might have been incorporated into the timer - but no such luck. Cheers, Singvogel. |

Been really loving my FBH during this cold snap! I have a remote but can't always park outside my house, last night for instance had to park about 80m away up a side street with no line of sight but thought I would try to bounce the signal off the houses opposite. Got to my car and was amazed, toasty warm, fantastic device!

Singvogel, any joy with finding a Telestart reciever unit? I have the FBH as mentioned but am now up for getting the reciever, fob, timer.
I see on the phtots on this page, by Arctic I think, that they show a Telestart T80. Perhpas the only realistic place is a breakers? But I've no idea if its possible to failry easily remove the reciever/timer easily or if its a console and dash removal jobbie? Rich. |
