Thanks for that... Look ok to me ... I wonder if its a new addition to the catalogue? as I looked in both Farnell and Rs, but it was well over a year ago now so a number of catalogues ago.... anyway, I made a lil sketch when I had mine apart and the position of the pins etc is fine so should be hunky dory

I wouldn't worry about the dimmer Blue as you say, the yellow is very bright...
The 3.9 forward voltage for blue is quite high in comparison, but I think we will get away with it as we have in blueing the other leds due to the PWM system.
In principle the blue led's are much brighter than the amber ones we have used in the other aplications, but the blue also requires a higher voltage, and we give it less, they are not reaching their peak.

I don't profess to know how the PWM side of things works, but I think its saving us in our transformation

good luck with it .... as soon as youre successfull I'll be right on your heels

Sorry about the massive pic rofl... I'll shrink it hehe

I had a little play with one of the LEDs... 3v is not enough to light up the blue (my power supply only does 1.5v increments, so I can't tell at what point between 3v and 3.9v it lights up). So there's a potential (excuse the pun!) problem right there... is the IPK going to provide enough voltage to light it up? if the IPK does use PWM then I guess it should be fine.
I also discovered by accident that putting a constant 3v through the red makes it glow very bright for 2 secs and then it goes pop...!

Yeah I must admit the specs saying 3.9v was a bit of a surprise as in general I had come accross 3.2-3.4v so 3.9 was quite a jump

Likewise you were asking a bit much for your red led to take 3v hehe
generally 1.9V but 1.9-2.1V is the norm so 50% increase was like whoops hehe..

with a small watch cell you might have stood a chance, but theer wouldnt be any drop at all with a PS ... hopefully it wasn't one of your new ones?
Like I said I cant be certain, but I think the PWM helps with the voltage difference, as the other led's we've changed havent all had different limiting resisters, but still operate just fine.
It may be that the threshold on these particular ones however just wont allow them to play ball
if you have the dash stuff ready to remove theres no harm in popping it in to try ...

Just had a quick look through my mail and notes, and the Osram ones i was trying to source were rated slightly lower which would help , but I wouldn't completely discount yours yet I think (hope)the PWM will help you out .
red blue

Durchlassspannung6) Seite 16(min.)Forward voltage6) page 16(typ.)IF = 10 mA(max.)
VFVFVF
1.8 2.0 2.3
2.9 3.5 4.1
V V V

voltages shown min,ideal,max

These also are now showing as 'still taking orders' but were 'obsolete' before when I checked rofl...
The price was $0.15 each for 2k but went up to $0.5 each when I only wanted 100pieces(3 plus spares) and shipping was $50 so $50+$50 meant the shipping which lets face it should be $5 max was teh same as the led's so I let it lie, but never got around to sorting anything out

It does still bug me though so I hope yours works out

They were OSRAM LSB T676N1P2K1L21 by the way, sorry I never got back to you 'Crimbo and all that'.

looks fantastic, but you need to put some fuel in the car to switch the low fuel light off!!

Bit OT, you know you got a different HU, does the remote on the steering wheel still work with it?

It will when I can be bothered to connect it up properly
