You need to buy a casing that isn't so cheap and nasty

All of the very poor copy cases do not include the plastic part which attach to the blade, it's a case of buy cheap, by twice I'm afraid.

Question What's everyone doing for new fobs now?

My fob case buttons have just given in to the ravages of time.
Everything was still working ok until this morning but the buttons are goosed.

Wondering if anyone has tried this:

Seems to save the bother of digging out & gluing in the key blade?

Hi Rich & Paula,

It looks tempting but the weakest link would be the adhesive you'd have to use to insert them into your existing, damaged cover. I can't imagine any glue lasting very long with repeated flexing of the buttons, can you?

Try this seller for a replacement case complete. The last one I bought was a good quality moulding with the vital triangular tops present on the PCB clips. However it didn't have the retaining platform and shoulders in the transponder box but a little Blu Tack addressed that inconvenience.

Or try these people.

Send me a P.M. if you decide to go for a replacement case.

Simon

I've used the Poole supplier in SD1too (Simon) link before Brexit made UK sellers difficult.

Slow delivery, and if I remember correctly poor communication but the fobs were decent enough quality with no blue tack needed

Regards

As Brian said, just buy a case that comes with a blank blade. If your blade pulls out of the old casing without the collar, simply transplant the collar from the blank blade to your blade.
