Sorry, no racial connection in my comment.

Is the Royal Enfield now manufactured in India, they seem to have done a good job of it. Lets hope they can keep Jag alive..

What would constitute the rebirth of the brand, the heritage the history, then?

You don't think Rover could be a great British company with input from Jaguar and Land Rover? Everyone seemed to think it was still the real deal when BMW were pulling the strings. If anything, being back under the same ownership as Land Rover would be closer to the original Rover than it had been for years.

There are two known meanings for this word.

Would you care to elucidate or just choose another term?

I get annoyed when people say my car is a copy of a jag my usual reply is that the 75 was put into production before the jag & a lot of my car is BMW based not a Ford Mondeo with a 75 look alike body

Enfield India have been making motorcycles since 1955 first by assembling components sent out by the parent company Royal Enfield. By 1962 all components were manufactured in India because the model line-up here moved on to new models and all the old tooling was shipped there. Production has been constant since then, with most of the improvements to the original design being made since the company started to export to other counties in the 1970's.
Enfield India bought the name of the parent company in 1995 to become Royal Enfield.

Great bikes first bike I owned was a 1953 350 Bullet, still got a tank badge knocking around somewhere. Keep on promising myself another, will do one day.
