If I turn the heater to full heat on my 75, there is still a faint new smell.

Congratulations on the new car Pete, just make sure you ventilate that new car smell (windows open).

When I worked for Ford, delivering new cars, we were told the smell can be bad for ones health (toxic). The materials used in the car, also adhesives and sealer's release various volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These compounds release large numbers of molecules into the surrounding air (confined space) many man-made VOCs are known to cause various health risks.

There has been many studies carried out over the years.

This is very true, the same with new sofas and beds I believe but, hey how often do you sit inside a new motor( unless you make them)?. Sorry as well as I mentioned the Princess before in my new car drives, I was having a senior moment it was called the Ambassador Vanden Plas but the body was based on a princess.

The only smell I would get with a new car, would be all the money that has just disappeared down the plug hole.

Congratulations, by coincidence swmbo just bought a fiesta in the same colour. To be fair it's a very nice car, and has a lot more toys than the zt such as cruise, powerfolds, voice controlled climate control. Not bad for a small car.
