Anyone got a pic of the modification kit so I can look to see if it's already been fitted?

I have ordered a kit just incase. I am not sure if the permanent cure actually used the kit. Its possible MGR came up with another solution from the unaffected Vin onwards and no kit was involved.

Does anyone know?

According to the recall paperwork I received from Rover it states that the problem was with cars with, and I quote, "Approximate production dates December 1998 to October 1999". Mine was recalled in July 2002 and was fitted with new front springs only.

There is a suggestion in the first recall record at VOSA that the problem is caused by corrosion, some owners have suggested fatigue...maybe a case for a club survey?

I havent heard of anyone with a facelift model affected yet...does anyone know any different?

In reality spring failures are a totaly random problem, not unique to any one make or Model of car...the only car I can remember with a real history of failures was the old Renault 18 in the 80s and they used to break rear springs regularly.
