Hi Jamie yes the recal does affect only the 75 but as I said no harm in protecting yourself.

According to the recall paperwork I received from Rover it states that the problem was with cars with, and I quote, "Approximate production dates December 1998 to October 1999". Mine was recalled in July 2002 and was fitted with new front springs only.

There is a suggestion in the first recall record at VOSA that the problem is caused by corrosion, some owners have suggested fatigue...maybe a case for a club survey?
I havent heard of anyone with a facelift model affected yet...does anyone know any different? In reality spring failures are a totaly random problem, not unique to any one make or Model of car...the only car I can remember with a real history of failures was the old Renault 18 in the 80s and they used to break rear springs regularly.
