just spoke to calor and the rumour is fact, no new sales and will not even be able to exchange an empty bottle for a full one.
The number of these small bottles about must be huge, I wonder what they are worth to calor as scrap metal This is massive. One of the biggest shocks I can think of. macafee2 |

why? Calor isn’t the only supplier of bottled gas. Our heating and hot water runs off gas bottles and we’ve never used Calor.

The shock is :- I never expected it. The "4.5kg/3.9kg" bottles have been around for over 50 years and sold in their thousands and are widely used in the leisure industry. People can swop to Safefil and a search via Google shows bottles to be £200+, they could go up a size from 4.5/3.9 kg but then for caravanners, nose weight may become an issue. I know it is not the end of the road but to me, it is a shock. macafee2 |

Most modern caravans are set up for 6k propane (Red)or equivalent in Butane (Blue),I have been a caravan owner for nearly 25 years always used 6k size in all my caravans,so not really an issue.

So the the Cube, the 3.9kg, and 6L Propane. 4.5kg and 12kg butane are going.
Available will be 6kg propane, 7kg Butane. The 7kg Butane & 6kg propane will cost at least as much as the 12kg does. Time to swap my spare 12kg empty for a full one. I will miss the 3.9 & 4.5 I use in the load space with a 2 ring burner, will just have to be a 6 or 7, that I bet will be 4X the price.

Never said they were stopping supplying gas, just that they are not the only gas supplier.
