Your last 75 had exactly the same setup, it's something that doesn't crop up every day, but it's worth keeping an eye on because it could be nasty if it goes wrong. It's just one of those things to check every now and then.

Once you know where it is, you can clear the drain without removing the ECU and it really is a 10 min job at most. A good tool to use is one of those flexible pipe cleaning tools you can get from machine mart for under £5 (click here for the one I've got).

Plus there's a small mod you can do which will make the process a 30 second job, details are on the forum if you search for something like 'plenum mod'.

easiest way to do this is not to look for the drain.

remove the cover on the scuttle panel so you can see the ecu and the pollen filter.

roll sleeve up and slide you arm in till you feel the bottom can be done with ecu in but is tite and feel around till you hit the drain.

now find some thin rod or wire that will rech the drain and then some i used some twin and earth that was in the house bit tricky as it was flexible but worked

rod it a few times till you hear water flooding out

my best tip is just get mucky and feel for it not the best space to try and get a good view in too

i did notice after putting ecu back that you could easy see the drain hole if you had long enough tool so i'll get one those jiggers

ever wondered what would happen if you just pulled the whole plug out - i mean - what could possibly be worse than soaked ecu? - it only seems to drain outside

i did get mucky - with the ecu out i stuffed long (but thin) screw driver down but it only started to trickle out, even though i wiggled it around loads times - in the end i stuffed my finger down the hole but only reach so far

There is still some mud and debris in the drain tube otherwise it would have gushed out. Us a thicker device to clear it. I use a 15mm pipe bending spring, fits the entry hole perfectly and spreads the rubber tube enough as you plunge it to completely clear the pipe in one movement. Once every six months for me as mines garaged and not many trees about distributing vast quantities of pollen and leaves.
