Top results so far.

So you won't be using the car wash

Put the Rover through a car wash flipping heck I hear members feinting and dropping to the floor as I type . Have one of these aerials on the fiesta and they just unscrew, that goes in the car wash.

This is just a DAB / FM aerial, I continued to use the rear screen aerial for the FM as it works perfectly well, I only use it for DAB as the rear screen signal was too poor for it. I do not believe they make a freeview version, other freeview aerials are available though.

The hole was about 20mm! it was very disconcerting drilling it indeed.

My friend owns a hand car wash, I get to use it to my hearts content, and if I had to pay, it is cheaper than the local automated one anyway.

HI thanks for the info I'm a little confused about DAB and DVBT as my head unit has a built-in DVBT tuner which can receive digital radio as well, which I thought would be DAB, is this correct?

Bit of a thread revival here, sorry

Rich, I'll be fitting the 003 'stubby' version of your aerial soon. I notice that they stipulate loads of grease during fitting else they'll void the warranty, did you have to do that? and if you did what grease did you use?

Also how did you route the cables and where did you pick up the power feed? albeit mine will be on a facelift tourer that has already got the shark fin on the roof.

Thanks

Sorry, I have just seen this

How did you get on with the fitting?

I didn't use grease, I used clear silicone, I also ran a feed along the headlining to the door, then along the top of the doors and down the A pillar and taped it to the aerial.

I am under the impression that the aerial had failed towards the end of my ownership however, less than 12 months old.

No worries Rich, I did use what's basically axle grease, and I eventually went the same way as you across the headlining picking up the 12v feed from the OEM aerial amplifier then down the off side headlining just above the doors then down the A-Post, DAB is crystal clear, no drop-outs whatsoever, I was worried about FM reception as they say the stubby one isn't as sensitive as the one you fitted, but it's all fine.

I hope mine lasts a damn site longer than a few months... at over £60

Cool Looks pretty sweet!

I need to install a active aerial for my new DAB head unit and I think this is a good bet! and I guess the whip unscrews for when I jam my car through the car wash twice a year! (yes I do that as I like to clean the salt off the underneath of my car after the winter is over and once again before autumn as I live by the coast and it gets pretty salty down here. But I will say that I don't like doing it as the wax they use is completely useless and I always have to get the turtle out afterwards! (the automatic has not scratched my car up yet! (I don't use the supermarket ones, I use a independent car wash and they do quite a good job of cleaning all the bushes between uses!)) between auto washes I use the two buckets with the mit (a pressure washer will never come near my motor.....) Id rather have bad paint work than have my car fall apart from too much rust!
