Despite my love of all things nautical, a particulalry choppy crossing of the English channel kinda put me off a bit...spent the whole crossing with my head over the side.......thankfully no rogue waves.

I don't like boats that aren't big enough to have their own restaurant but never fancied a cruise. My Aunt and Uncle used to go on them until a couple latched onto them on one cruise, wouldn't give them peace, tried to organise everything. My Uncle just about resorted to reading a book in the engine room to get away from them!

Thankfully where our boat is on the Norfolk Broads, not many rogue waves about .....that's unless I fall overboard

I definitely don't have sea legs I went sea fishing once from Deganwy in North Wales, puked me guts up the whole trip. Tried something more sedately & hired a canal barge one bank holiday weekend many moons ago, no rogue waves on the Leeds Liverpool canal though

This led me to read about the loss of the MS Munchen which sank in the North Atlantic with the loss of all hands in December 1978. It was the length of 2.5 football pitches and one of the biggest ships ever built at the time yet a rogue wave is thought to be the most likely cause of its demise. An angry sea has no respect of size.

I was on a cross channel boat thingy on a particularly rough (fun) crossing. I enjoy it, like rollercoaster. I called my mummy to tell her how much fun I was having when she suggested a way of making it even more fun; she suggested standing in front of those suffering the most and slowly wobble around. Worked a treat! At least three people had to go away for a bit. They were completely oblivious to my telephone call! Such fun! I laughed so much when recounting the story!
