I've heard that too, but does that apply to 2 pack paints?

the body shop told me to return the bumper when on the car so that they can do the final polish on it, so with any luck on the time front tomorrow i can get that done as well, thanks for the tip, but as jules said does that apply too the paint and that it has had a layer of 2 pack lacquer

Finished off cutting and installing the mesh, cleaned my air filter, notice that it had been rubbing on the wiring loom behind it, looked as if it had only just rubbed through the insulation tape so wound some spiral rap around it to protect it. Also reduced the bonnet to bumper gap, fitted stainless steel bolts both on top and bellow. The hardest part was cutting the squarish holes for the power wash as the other bumper didn't have them.

Original bumper with the cut out

new bumper drilling and cutting

finished hole was bigger and a odd shape , the end fit was tight but was good enough

finish bumper

although the gap has been reduce the bumper now sits a bit higher than the bonnet so may have to address this again when off.

I'm no paint expert, but the person who told me was referring to the Starlight Silver (metallic 2-pack) that he'd just put on my car.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of the crimped stainless mesh used on the Mk1 ZT as shown in this thread?

I only need a small amount to replace the mesh on one side of the grill but can't find anything similar on the internet. There are some 316 meshes on ebay but not the same so would have to replace the lot!

Thanks
