Generally feels like that when cable has come adrift from box, or box has come off of side in engine compartment.
Hardly ever a broken cable. (they can stretch sometimes though).

The trim is not too expensive. We bought one 18months back for circa £40 iirc ?

I think the part you are looking for is DWE100002PMA - Plenum front end trim scuttle panel.

You could try these guys, they are in the Netherlands. They show 1 left

Default Bonnet is open

Today I've tried again to open the bonnet, and guess what..........





It's open now
Not a broken cable but the cablebox has come off.
Also my garage phoned me this morning telling me that they have a Plenum Scuttle for me.
So I am lucky again
