I might be missing something here, but who exactly, once counterfoils go, will be looking at your licence details?

quite right on the month/day order.

As to seeing previous law breaking in print, I'm not so sure, in the past he would've had to ask for a driver check, which wouldn't of told him of prior convictions. (current or otherwise) - whether the current police system does I don't know.

Who will be looking at your details? Go on, annoy the wrong person, become a subject of media interest, Just get some Internet troll stalking you..., How about your employer decides that he needs you to drive 7.5 tonne lorry 'cos he sees you've got the entitlement (newly qualified drivers don't automatically get it) - you much prefer driving your desk? Who care's the fact is, if someone wants to, it won't take them a lot of effort. So from your dob and name and address they've fished out your NI number (you do shred all old payslips and P60s don't you? - never lost one?) And now they have your driving licence details. They are one step closer to identity theft - hell they even know you're diabetic/short sighted/ blind in one eye/epileptic....

Of course if none of these apply to you and you couldn't give a fig, well that's you, not me. Me? I do care. The use or rather mis-use of peoples private identifying information is a serious matter and should be challenged where it conflicts with personal privacy.

Like I say, you don't care. I'll accept that - this thread isn't of any further interest to you then.

There was a thread in General Forum regarding Identity Fraud SCAM relating to licence details now counterpart is being dropped, the DVLA warning is here not new as been around since 2010, but villains never miss a new opportunity.

It never ceases to amaze me just how complacent some people are!

I blame the mistaken belief that government rules the people.

My employer has a copy of my driving licence, they know what classes of vehicle I am entitled to drive; this goes for my three previous employers. I drive a desk by the way and have a contract which describes my T&Cs and what I have to do/not do. I keep my P60s for tax purposes, then shred them. Never lost one. I have one of the medical conditions you state; DVLA are aware, so too my insurers, my family, friends and employer. I've known about the licence number construct for 35 years.

I am genuinely interested how getting rid of the paper segment of my licence will lead to someone finding out more details about me they can't already?
