Diesels don't usually get up to 88 just on idle even with a new thermostat.
Just not enough Kw heat output..............which is a good thing........means not too much energy wasted as heat! [/quote] Thanks Jules - I'll take it for a run then. If the thermostat isn't working you may well have another customer for that job you don't like |

Just thought I'd try this on mine, set test mode and took for a 7 mile drive (one way), temp reached 87 just around the 7 mile mark then alternated between 86/87 on the return. Does this sound OK? Thanks in advance, Simon.

I have just fitted a new stat in my diesel. The OBD shows 75C when the gauge reaches and stops at half scale. The OBD carries on rising to 88C. Then it moves between 87-89C. It takes much longer to warm up if the interior heater heater is on because mine doesn't have a FBH.
