It's not up to me (and anyway, forum rules prevent me from) to recommend ANY Political Party to you to vote for Richard!
Not knowing the Political situation in your particular area, all I would suggest that you look at the Policies of all the top 6 Political Parties and then vote for the one that; a) Has the Policies closest to what you would like to see happen and b) Of those, then the one with the biggest chance of actually getting elected! Now, let's just say that the Green Party had the most Policies that appealed to you, but had absolutely no chance of wining the the seat locally, have a look at another Party that does at least have some chance of being elected. If you want to PM me, we can discuss it further off board, so as not to break any forum rules! |

I'm not being political.

Many years ago a Prime Minister declared AustinRover's lean burn technology was the way forward, the American Motoring giants plus the mining industry persuaded the PM otherwise. AustinRover suddenly became a lame duck because of the state money they'd invested in advancing automotive technology (Check out Chematal). Luckily the PM, on retirement, got a lucrative career on the American lecture circuit. A subsequent administration were threatened with cut downs in Britain by American car giants if we didn't join the Euro, we didn't so they cut down. Which is what they wanted anyway, just needed an excuse. Luckily the PM, on retirement, got a lucrative career on the American lecture circuit. So when it comes to standing up for the British people or giving in to Europe, I suspect our present PM will bluster and then give in because a lucrative career on the American lecture circuit beckons. |

Some of you are saying, in theory correct, that our chance to change this, will be at the ballot box, but I have been trying for 50 years and it doesn't work. The country is run by the ministerial bureaucrats and nothing changes, except for a few sound bites from any newly elected party.
I am always contacting my MP and local Council about things that concern me, but what I get is usually just weasel words and friends saying, why do you bother! The whole political structure has been hijacked and manipulated. Most people vote in local elections by 'party', as they would for national elections, but how many actually know their local councillor and how good they are. Obviously it helps if your local governance is of the same political persuasion as the Government, because they will get more central government support, but that doesn't mean you will get the sort local service that you need. I had decided to give up my vote, but if nothing changes, I will give Nigel a try in the EU and next year's national elections; at least he appears to talk my language, except for legalising drugs. So, it is one more try, but then I give up. Roverite. |

I'm doing the same - and I hope a great of others do too! I live in the Eastleigh Constituency and he has big support in these parts as was seen in the last local Election!
