To be honest with our driving styles, the standard setup on other models is more than adequate.
i am inclined to agree with on this one paul.even tho i did go the whole hog on this and did the fronts and rears.esp after the issues i had with the front discs ie they warped.and b4 anyone asks no it was not the hub had it checked it was fine.

The bigger setup must be doing something or they wouldn't have fitted it, visually they look good, but in theory using normal driving styles they don't make much difference.

After driving around in a 75 for four years and knowing it's limits regarding brake distances, I flung the 190 around a bit, and at speed braking efficiency was improved regards to brake fade. Nothing else in normal scenarios.

Ican vouch for Pagid Pads from eurocarparts, they are excellent. Good stopping power, never did understand why some people say that our brakes are no good, mine have always been excellent. The amount of brake dust does not seem any worse than the ones i replaced. The original ones on when i bought the car were terrible for brake dust.

I would have thought the bigger rear brakes would help when towing as well as for more high speed stuff.

I think pagid is a good idea, and yes I will be doing all discs and pads from the 190

They are no bigger on the rear of a 190, just thicker as they are vented. Obviously a differant caliper to acomadate the extra width.

Sorry, meant thicker. By being vented they run cooler in use and so when towing which puts a lot more load on the rears it will be advantageous.

Definitely, vented discs have proven to be more effective to combat brake fade.

Apparently some 190 models have the solid rear discs, it was probably down to availability at the time.
