![]() I've ordered an FM aerial so will try that directly into the head unit. It's one of those stick on types, so if it works better, may stick it on the dash or the windscreen if it doesn't affect the MOT! ???

![]() Yes, thanks, I have checked and cleaned all the connections and earths on both rear pillars, changed amp but still no better. Strange that it is fine on Auxilliaries but position 2 on key (even without starting engine) brings in severe interference and loss of signal.

![]() OK update! Tried the aerial direct into the radio and exactly the same. CD playing it is for me! Anyone know if there are any joints in the standard radio aerial wire and where it runs? I'm getting to the giving up point!

![]() The aerial cable runs from the amp. on the nearside D pilar down behind the rear seat bolster, then under the carpet beneath the rear door and under the carpet below the passenger door. Then, behind the glove box and out through the top left of the radio aperture.
![]() ![]() Also, check that you have a 12v supply to the aerial amp, this comes from the large BMW plug in the back of the radio. Dave T |

![]() Update on this for anyone with similar problems. The problem was the 12v to 5v converter for my dashcam. I thought that I had ruled this out by switching the dashcam off to test it but forgot that the converter was still connected.
