They're not the easiest of cameras to carry around like your compact Ines because they're quite bulky and heavy but great nevertheless.

I can do all that with this, and it is not a DSLR or bulky.

A DSLR is a great place to start though. I still have my old 12mp DSLR I don't use it but cannot bring myself to sell it.

I would take a look at some of the top selling camera stores, just to get an idea of used prices.
They all sell pre-owned, tested and checked, either trade in`s ex or rental Etc.
