Unhappy The damage inflicted

Here's what a slow-moving German car can do to one of your door pannels and wing...

I know your pain Simon.

All my cars (only 2 prior to the 75, but still) had been smashed about.
My first car, bought when I was 18, got crushed between a lorry and the centre barrier on a dual carriage way. I must have been in his blind spot.
My next car had a van scrape up the side and 2 months later a can reverse into it both while parked.
Within 2 weeks of having my 75 some kids bang a football in to her twice leaving small but noticable dents.

I think it's the hassel more than the dents I dislike.

Owner luckily was very appologetic. They said the car was new (two days old) and they weren't used to a manual gearbox yet. Typical....

Hopefully popping into to local (ex) dealer this week to see if they can sort out the mess....

ouch... but I can sort of beat that.

my very 1st Rover (a 1978 V8) was parked a few doors up from my house, during the night we heard a few bangs, thought nothing of it until I went up to the car the next day to find police tape around it. Seems there was an armed bank robbery the night before and the police and robbers exchanged shots, and my car was hit twice....

I still have the insurance photograph

Had the carpark caress happen to me a few years ago in Hemel Hempstead, when I was in a restaurant feeding clients. Got back to the car to find front bumper bent as a car had rolled across the car park into it.

Was dead easy to find the owner, though, as his telephone number was on a board on top of his car, with a big red "L" at either end. You've guessed it, it was a driving instructor..........

You couldn't make it up, could you.

(BTW he sheepishly paid up for the repair to my car, for some reason didn't want to involve his insurance. I wonder why)

So, may I ask... Why do some people not use them?

I mean, take this example....

I park my car this morning in the usual car park and pay the usual fee. I leave car glancing backwards a few times (as you do) then dissappear round the corner and off to work.

I get out of work just gone six this evening and return to car.... to find.... A car.... 'parked' accross two bays and IN my rear drivers-side door.

After much fuming and shouting I phone police and brother. Brother comes along to take photos (for insurance purposes) and a police man comes along to inspect the situation. Turns out the handbrake on the offending car is OFF and it has obviously rolled back into my car... Not a happy bunny is me.

The damage is a dent or three, scraping and paintwork damage to rear drivers-side door and wheel arch.

I love my car. I spend hours cleaning and polishing it (really, I do) then something like this happens. All because someone forgot to either leave it in gear or put the handbrake on. Bleeding annoying it is....

Very sorry to hear about this Simon. A friend of mine had an Audi roll into there 3 week old Honda CRV and that did £600 worth of damage!

Terrible. These people should be forced to play carpark roulette, where they have to lie down in front of one of 6 cars on a slight slope, and yes you've guessed it, only 5 have their handbrakes on.
I hate carparks
Stupid di*****ds.
