Okay I,ll leave it a few days,to see what dates we can come up with, which places to go and then we can all vote,
I will look around in the meantime to see if I can come up with any other ideas of where we can go, How long should the meet last,if its a couple of hours at least, we need to think of somewhere we can get a hot drink as standing around meadowhall carpark in the winter wouldnt be very warm,we wouldnt be guaranteed to be seated together if we went into the food hall at Meadowhall, plus the woman probably wont be together as a group,as they would shop in different places,I dont know if the women would enjoy shopping by themselves while the men talk about cars, Let me know yours and partners thoughts, |

I would be interested. But wouldn't meadowhall be very crowded on saturday? maybe not much room to park. I think maybe somewhere in the countryside could be better. I too work some weekends so would need plenty of notice.
Ps. I have a 3 year old daughter who hates shops and a wife who loves them. . |

Would much prefer going to somewhere like Hemsworth rather than Meadowhall, Saturdays on the run up to Christmas it'll be packed!

The monthly meet that Tim goes to for the classic rovers,is normally just for men,not a lot of the wives go as its a regular thing,in a pub, so would a place like Hemsworth or Thrybergh country park be better as a regular place to go,do your partners enjoy places like this,
try to think of something that would suit all the family ,so we could make it a family meet, Thrybergh country park is free entry,(ALWAYS A BONUS) it has a cafe where we could buy hot drinks to warm the cockles, it has a visitors centre to amuse any kids, and you can buy food to feed the various birds, and a play area for kids, there is a bbq area which would be good in summer, fishing is allowed in season. If people wanted to stay overnight there is camping available. If people think Hemsworth or Thrybergh country park are the most popular idea, we will try the food in the most popular choice and report back about the service, price etc, just incase people want to eat while there, What type of things do you want to do at the meet ie quizzes etc, Last edited by Timbo.P6; 27th October 2007 at 23:13.. |
