Although the 160 remap does improve the 115 cars, I've yet to see any actual evidence that this remap actual produces anywhere near 160.. and I have it ..

Brave comment, you might get silent deleted . Typical 116ps cars run around 100bhp on a dyno, 131ps run around 120bhp. "160" map run around 130bhp and aftermarket maps from professional tuners can push this to around 150bhp. I've posted dyno runs and printouts before on here, you'll probably find how many times I've argued this if you look at my post history. The "160" map does make a minor difference, but it doesn't produce what it says.

I have no axe to grind either way but my CDT 113/115 BHP struggled on the flat to tow our caravan and I was often flitting from 4th to 5th and back again. The car was a dog. The remap to "160" made a significant difference. The car does not struggle on the flat and on the up hill, if I ask the car to accelerate just before it climbs, it will climb the hill towing the caravan without feeling strained. Some hills it will maintain 60 and on others the speed does drop often because I have not tried to keep it at 60.

I would be surprised if there is only "10" BHP between my remapped CDT saloon and my, thought to be, standard CDTI Tourer.

My car was mapped from 114 to 160 and the difference between the two is night and day. A friend of mine has a factory 130bhp Diesel car that is lighter than my ZT and yet my car leaves it for dust.
I really doubt the 160 map only gives around 130bhp.

Lee.

You gained around 30bhp from your remap, you will feel that and it will be noticeable. It's when you have a 131ps car that is mapped, the change isn't significant, it is minor. You might be suprised, I have posted dyno printouts many times on here to be told I'm wrong.

Doubt it all you want, have a look through old posts of mine and you'll see dyno printouts. Considering you run out of boost and you can't actually produce enough for 160 it is laughable really.

If anyone doubts the "160", try a stock E90 320D with 161ps and tell me what you think. The 75/ZT should keep up right?

Your friends car could have issues, it could be perfect, who knows. Run it on a dyno to find out what the output actually is. Just because it left the factory with 130bhp, it could have faulty injectors, a fault maf sensor, faulty map sensor, boost leak, could be all coked up. A lot of things can impact performance.

The Toaf site is not immune to the occasional transient problem, most sites suffer the same at some time be it for reasons of maintenance or whatever. If time is of the essence old snapshots from a site can sometimes be found on the Internet Archive Waybackmachine, just looked and one of July 2022 is available for the Toaf download files: Click

Thanks all for the input! Hm. I dunno. Maybe it's not worth it.
Considering that Trikey is not that far from me and can put it back to standard if I'm not happy I'm inclined to still give it a go.

But it's not immediate anyway - I'm just starting a new job and want to settle down a bit before I start tinkering again. I think...

I had a re-map on my cdti 130. Little difference noticed on actual performance but probably a consistent 10% improvement on mpg.
